From the family-owned cellar forge to a globally successful security company

1924, in the small town of Volmarstein near Wetter an der ruhr: this was a time when people still went to the cinema to watch silent films, when children played on streets that were barely passable by car and computers were still pure dreams of the future. But in 1924, August Bremicker and his sons achieved the masterpiece of launching a padlock that was groundbreaking for his future and that of his family: "Iron Rock".

At the time, the family started developing and producing padlocks in the basement of their home. With strong competition: in Volmarstein and the surrounding area there were many such smithies at the time. But August Bremicker and his sons were so successful that the company quickly grew to 300 employees. So that in 1929 the production facility in Hegestraße in Volmarstein was bought, wich is still in operation today.

”Anchor Lås AB is a privately owned company with roots in Swedish industrial history. Many technical innovations come from here, especially with a focus on metal processing, e.g. door closers, hinges, hasps and of course padlocks. We have been making padlocks since the 1930s. We work hard to invest in ourselves and our own production. Most of the raw material is purchased within a 25 mile radius to leave a minimal environmental footprint and to control the entire process. We proudly design and produce certified padlocks and cabinet locks at our factory in Eskilstuna and are Scandinavia's only padlock manufacturer. In 2023, we are taking padlock security even further and launching IP68 certified padlocks.

CES (C.Ed. Schulte GmbH) is a medium-sized family business. It was founded in 1840 and is the oldest cylinder lock factory in Germany. The headquarters is in Velbert, in the center of the key region.
